1.     Dilsen Member

Authors: Paulissen (1973) introduced informally the Dilsen Formation. The unit was later on formally ranked as a member within the aeolian Gent Formation (Gullentops et al., 2001).

Description: The Dilsen Member consists of yellow horizontally laminated slightly silty sands. Typically, an interglacial soil developed in these sands, with a reddish-brown Bt-horizon, which is thought to be the equivalent of the Eemian Rocourt pedocomplex in the loess sections (Haesaerts et al., this volume). It is most frequently found overlying the Eisden-Lanklaar terrace of Saalian age (Gullentops et al., 2001) and covered by younger aeolian deposits.
