Description: Sands and clays with marine fauna and intercalated peat layers and soils built up to 10m above MSL in estuarine position along the Yzer river.

Stratotype: Herzeele (France) clay pit.

Area: North-western Belgium.

Age: Middle Pleistocene, Cromerian to Holsteinian.
