Ce mercredi 8 juin dernier, quelques membres de la NCS Belgium Jurassique s'est réunie pour une excursion en Lorraine belge.  Une attention particulière a été accordée au faciès de Hondelange et à sa répartition cartographique pour ouvrir la discussion sur son passage au rang de formation (ce niveau est actuellement reconnu comme membre de la Formation argileuse d'Arlon).  Au vu de son contenu lithologique et ses implications, cartographique etc..., il a été admis que la place de ce niveau nécessite d'être revue.

The Booischot Formation, a new formal lithostratigraphic unit for the Devonian in the Campine Basin (N. Belgium) is accepted by NCS.

The proposal text of the Gent Formation (Quaternary) is accepted on the NCS meeting of 13/01/2016.

A new tab “RegWal” is added to the menu of the website !

This new tab gives access to all new stratigraphic unit names resulting at present from the mapping in the Walloon region. These unit names are used in the legends of  the new geological maps of the Walloon region.

These names are added (or will be added soon) to the list of lithostratigarphic units on the web, giving easy access to their detailed description. Try it out !
